My Journey to The Humane Future

Our Story
This foundation grew from gratitude, compassion, and hope.

A more humane, healthier world is possible when we choose compassion and science - together.

Science, Compassion, and Tawney

I believe deeply in science. I am alive and cancer-free today because generations of researchers pursued knowledge, challenged accepted ideas, and developed treatments that changed—and saved—human lives. I will always be grateful for the scientific research that made my recovery possible.

My belief in science exists alongside another conviction that has shaped me for as long as I can remember: animals deserve compassion, protection, and respect. I have loved animals throughout my life, but adopting Tawney brought that belief into sharper focus.

Tawney came to me through Beagle Freedom Project after beginning her life at Ridglan Farms, a facility that breeds dogs for research. She was more than a new addition to my family. Through her, I became part of a remarkable community of rescuers, adopters, advocates, scientists, and ordinary people determined to create a kinder world.

Moving beyond animal testing is not a rejection of science. It is the continuation of science.

- THE HUMANE FUTURE

Why The Humane Future Exists

Team Discussion Group

The Humane Future is not intended to be a place where one side shouts at another. It is meant to bring together advocates, scientists, researchers, medical professionals, businesses, policymakers, educators, rescuers, and members of the public.

We may not agree on every issue or on how quickly change can occur, but meaningful progress begins when people are willing to listen to one another, examine the evidence, acknowledge legitimate concerns, and work toward practical solutions.
